I started making these blocks several years ago because I could not find a vitamin/mineral block that had everything I wanted in a single block.
These blocks contain:
Calcium
Kelp
Prime© Concentrated Vitamins, Mineral and Amino Acid Supplement
Avian Medicine Chest© Trace Minerals
Fish Meal
Crab Meal
Cuttle Bone
Oyster Shell
They are made in 3 oz. cups. Simply tear off the paper cup and mount in your bird cage. I hang them above the food bowl so that any pieces that the bird may drop will then be in the food for less waste.
I have used these for all hookbills from parrotlets and lovebirds to amazons and african greys. They are however in my opinion too small for the large macaws and cocktoos as I have a feeling do to the size of their beaks they would crumble them too easily making for a lot of waste.
